More people with dementia need to be engaged with clinical trials. Researchers struggle to recruit enough volunteers, but at the same time, some people with dementia who want to engage in trials have difficulty doing so. It is not common to talk about participating in clinical research after diagnosis. Several Alzheimer associations have developed initiatives, including TrialMatch in the USA and JoinDementiaResearch in the UK to help.
These pages aim to bring together information and signpost clinical trials in order to increase the number of people involved in studies on dementia. One of ADI’s aims is to facilitate and encourage research into care, prevention and to find a cure.
